I regret not writing my own novel. I had all intentions of doing so, but while creating the lessons to support student writing, I was not able to spend the time developing my own novel. This is something that I will work on integrating next year.
This is my first year introducing students to NaNoWriMo. So far I think this has been a successful unit. Students have been introduced to elements of plot, figurative language, setting, dialogue, detail and characterization. The authentic product, a published novel, is an exciting accomplishment for a middle school student. The Young Writer's Program website is supportive and easy for the students to use. Having the statistics from the website to refer to everyday in class keeps motivation levels high.

November 5, 2014, Five days in to NaNoWriMo!- I feel pressured! I have two more days to get 10% of my goal, and I'm at 1%! Time to kick myself into gear!

Now we are Five days into NaNoWriMo and i am very proud of myself because i should only be 8% into my novel right now and I'm 16% in. That takes a lot of the pressure off me because now if I'm busy one day i can not feel pressured. Hopefully this good start will continue

We are five days into NanoWrimo and my word count goal is 100,000. I have almost 7,000 words and there are 25 days left. I'm feeling quite nervous that I won't make my word count goal. In order to finish on time, I have to type at least 5,000 words per day. I'm behind by 20,000 (almost). You guys should wish me luck because I'm going to have to work very hard these next few days until I'm caught up.

My word count is 40000 and I'm excited that I have such a good goal. The thing that motivates me is that I can get this book published and that Mrs. Gregorich will be reading my book. I am disappointed that I don't have a sticker on the chart but it just motivates me more!

So far my book is going very well. my word count is 1238, and i am trying to build the suspense. if anyone is reading this right now, i would be surprised. The whole writing process is kind of difficult for me, because i over think and over analyze, and that makes deciding on an idea and putting it into word very difficult.

I am now 5 days into NaNowrimo and I have been very.... lazy but this is because of a busy sports week of 2 of the 3 games so far. I am not very far in my word count but I must have 10% by next Monday or I owe Mrs.Gregorich $100. Dont worry my fellow followers my book will be published by January as promised. I do it all for you not me. Keep the faith homies. Stay trill for me.

As the sixth day of NaNoWriMo rolls in, I am very eager to continue. I have worked feverishly for the past five days. I have set my word count goal to 50000 and I have already typed 5512 words! I encourage all of you to keep your hopes up and continue plowing through.
